Did you know that blue topaz is the Texas state gem and is found only in Mason county? Topaz was made the official gem in 1969 and the "Lone Star Cut" was made official in 1979. The vast majority of the native Texas topaz is clear. It can also occur in a pale blue, the result of exposure to radiation as it was forming millions of years ago. Attend our November 6, 2014 Champagne & Sparkle event for a chance to win this 3 Carat Texas Star Topaz. We'll also be giving away a blue emerald cut topaz. Sure, you can dig in the dirt in Hill Country to find your own, but this is so much easier.
